You dedicated your skills, knowledge, and passion to public service until your job was taken from you. You are scientists, accountants, policy experts, emergency responders, analysts, and public servants who made a difference. You helped better the lives of the American people.

Fired Feds is here to support, inform, and connect federal employees who have lost their public service jobs, and current civil servants caught up in the uncertainty about what’s to come. We share stories, provide resources, and build a community that refuses to be silenced. We want America to know our work matters.

Did you know…?
Of the 2.4 million people employed by the federal government, fewer than 1/5 of them work in Washington, DC, or the adjoining states of Maryland and Virginia. (Pew Research Center, January 2025) Firing feds hurts local economies across the United States.
Nearly 900,000 civilian federal employees are either veterans, spouses of veterans, or spouses of active military—that’s 30% of the entire federal workforce. (Economic Policy Institute, March 2025) More than half of federal Firing feds means we’re kicking veterans and their spouses our of their jobs.
More than half of federal workers hold jobs that directly support our troops, our veterans, or our seniors. (AFGE, December 2024) Firing feds means we’re taking support away from people who rely on essential government services.
In 2024, federal workforce compensation amounted to less than 5% of the federal budget. (Marketplace, March 2025) Firing feds will do little to decrease our deficit but will do incredible harm to the American public.
